Our Turn-Key service includes a training program tailored to either hard or soft capsule manufacturing. This program includes all related support and administrative departments. This hands-on experience provides our customers with the overall knowledge and confidence needed to begin producing capsules in their own facility.

Our technical service program for soft and hard capsule projects includes:

All of our projects are under the direct supervision of Technophar's Vice-President of Turn-Key Operations.  A team of engineers, technicians, and production personnel supports this individual in order to bring the projects to successful completion.

1.Preliminary Factory Design:                                                                                         [top]

We provide a preliminary factory design for a structure necessary for the manufacture of soft or hard gelatin capsules.  To insure local codes are met the customer's architects must review the designs submitted.  Where a suitable building exists, modifications can be made to accommodate the capsule manufacturing operation.

The following design drawings and charts are included in the package:

        • Factory floor layout
        • Equipment Layout
        • Dehumidification system layout
        • Air flow diagram and HVAC ductwork layout
        • Chilled water system diagram
        • Steam system diagram
        • Hot and cold  water system diagram
        • Electrical power chart

Technophar provides engineering specifications for all equipment supplied by us.

3. Final Building Inspection                                                                                              [top]

Before the completion of a building and installation of equipment, the building must be inspected.  It is required that the customer advise us of a building inspection schedule three weeks in advance. Technophar's representatives will be, according to the supply contract, to the site for final building inspection:

4. Supervision and Technical Assistance during Equipment Installation and Startup      [top]

Installation, including the interlocking of all services and utilities, is the responsibility of both Technophar and the customer.  Our technician's job is to supervise and/or assist the customer's technicians in the installation of the equipment supplied by Technophar.  Our technicians also start up the equipment.

Hard Capsule

Usually, the following three (3) individuals are sent by Technophar to the site:

  • one (1) mechanic
  • one (1) electrical/HVAC technician
  • one (1) production technician

Soft Capsule

Usually, the following five (5) individuals are sent by Technophar to the site:

  • one (1) machine operator
  • one (1) gelatin maker
  • one (1) compounder
  • one (1) mechanic
  • one (1) electrical/HVAC technician

5. Transfer of Technology                                                                                                 [top]

The transfer of technology is the essence of our technical service program and is executed through an established training program conducted in two phases and by supplying the customer all required technological data. This includes:

        • Product Description
        • Process Description
        • Facility Requirements
        • Raw Material Requirements
        • GMP Requirements
        • Employee Requirements
        • Standard Operation Procedures (SOP)

6. Technical Training at Technophar's Equipment Manufacturing Facility (Phase I)        [top]

The focus of this training is on the capsule machines internal structure, systems, assembling, parts replacement, maintenance and troubleshooting.

Training is performed in Technophar's capsule equipment manufacturing facility in Canada.

Technophar's training program is scheduled and organized to enable trainees direct participation in the final machine assembly, as well as the mechanical testing prior to the shipment of equipment.
